Growing Living Shamrock

The seeds for Living Shamrock are produced in Ireland.
Each year, mother plants are grown after St. Patrick's Day.
The plants are then propagated in Co Meath, where the seed is produced and sent on to Kerry for the following season's crop.

Because of the unique growing method, Living Shamrock is packaged "root intact" which gives the Shamrock an excellent shelf life.
This ensures that Living Shamrock will stay fresh and ready to wear for St. Patrick's Day.

Living Shamrock is grown in our unique soil free hydrogel, (a hydrogel is a polymer that can hold several hundred times its weight in water.) giving it a shelf life of 8-10 days. This makes it ideal for retail sale or for posting to friends and relatives abroad.

Caring for your Living Shamrock

Why not plant your "Living Shamrock" in pots inside your home, or glasshouse as a reminder of your Irish connections throughout the year!

Shamrock is a perennial plant. For this reason, it is usually grown as a house plant, with a winter dormancy period. It needs bright light to thrive, as well as moist, well drained soil. When the plant begins to go dormant for the winter, keep the soil barely moist. Resume regular watering in spring when the plant puts out new growth.
