About Living Shamrock - Living Shamrock

Living Shamrock is grown from seed by Anthos Teoranta in Ballinskelligs, County Kerry in the South West of Ireland.

Growing_ShamrockThe seeds of living shamrock are produced in Anthos from mother plants of last years crop.

Living Shamrock is grown in our unique soil free hydrogel, (a hydrogel is a polymer that can hold several hundred times its weight in water.) giving it a excellent shelf life of 8-10 days.
This shelf life can be extended further by storing the living shamrock in a domestic fridge.

Because of the unique growing method, Living Shamrock is packaged "root intact". This ensures that Living Shamrock will stay fresh and ready to wear for St. Patrick's Day.

Caring for your Living Shamrock

Why not plant your "Living Shamrock" in pots inside your home, or glasshouse as a reminder of your Irish connections throughout the year!
Shamrock is a perennial plant. For this reason, it is usually grown as a house plant, with a winter dormancy period. It needs bright light to thrive, as well as moist, well drained soil. When the plant begins to go dormant for the winter, keep the soil barely moist. Resume regular watering in spring when the plant puts out new growth.
